A Nigerian lady has sparked reactions on social media after recounting her experience working for a female employer whose emotional struggles and mood swings reportedly made the workplace difficult for her.

The lady, identified on X, formerly Twitter, as @Esther_Dabira, disclosed that she worked with the woman for only two weeks before deciding to resign.

According to Bush Radio Academy, the lady claimed that her employer often became emotional whenever she made a mistake, creating an uncomfortable working environment.

She further recounted that her boss turned to her for relationship advice after her boyfriend ended their seven-month relationship. However, the employee alleged that the woman had cheated on her partner and was subsequently caught.

The lady said her employer’s frequent mood swings eventually became overwhelming, prompting her to leave the job.

“I had to resign because she wan use mood swings finish me. Na you cheat, na you still dey cry pass,” she wrote, expressing frustration over what she described as her employer’s emotional behaviour.

Her account has generated reactions from social media users, with several commenters sharing their views on emotional maturity and the importance of separating personal problems from professional responsibilities.

A user identified as Romeo suggested that the situation might have played out differently if a male employee had been in the same position, while Imole remarked that life continues to offer unexpected lessons.

Another commenter, Chime Paul, argued that people should learn to manage their emotions in the workplace, noting that personal difficulties should not become a burden for colleagues or employees.

Kemi also questioned why the employee had to endure the consequences of a relationship problem that did not involve her.

The discussion has renewed conversations about workplace boundaries, emotional intelligence and the importance of maintaining professionalism even when dealing with personal challenges.
