Former Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai, has taken to his Twitter handle to heap praises on the new Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Taoreed Lagbaja. El-Rufai has expressed unwavering confidence in Lagbaja’s ability to combat and eliminate terrorism, banditry, vandalism, and militancy plaguing the country. CONTINUE READING
In his tweet, El-Rufai wrote, “NIGERIA UPDATE: “My lines are open….” – Gen T Lagbaja. A new kind of Chief of Army Staff who without doubt will wipe out terrorism, banditry, vandalism, and militancy in Nigeria. I know the new COAS very well. Gen Taoreed Lagbaja was my last GOC as Governor of Kaduna State.”
El-Rufai further detailed the military prowess of General Lagbaja, “He always led from the front anywhere he is. He personally led troops to confront bandits in Kaduna State. He did the same in the North East and South East. Operatives of Boko Haram, IPOB, ESN, and the bandits know him well and fear him. He is the best choice as COAS.” CONTINUE READING
The former governor also shared a video, emphasizing Lagbaja’s reputation as a courageous and capable leader. He concluded his post by saying, “This video says it all. Thank you, General Lagbaja. Keep on doing what you have always done so well and with valour. God Bless you. – Nasir”.
El-Rufai’s words serve as a vote of confidence for the new COAS, and many Nigerians hope that General Lagbaja will indeed deliver on these expectations in the fight against insecurity in the country.
