Ordu made these comments at an event organized by the alumnae association of Archdeacon Crowther Memorial Girls’ School in Elelenwo, Port Harcourt, marking the school’s 80th anniversary.
The bishop stated, “From the moment the government returned the school to us, we viewed it as a responsibility. We embraced it as a mission and resolved that, despite the challenges, we would, with God’s help, prove ourselves trustworthy with the entrusted responsibility.”
He emphasized that upon visiting the school premises, it becomes evident that the Evo Diocese has upheld its commitment to both the government of Rivers State and the mission.
Bishop Ordu lauded the alumnae association for commemorating their alma mater, indicating their appreciation for the education they received and the investments made in their lives.
The association’s National President, Prof. Onyaye Kunle-Olowu, mentioned that the association had established a dedicated fund to support financially disadvantaged students.
