During the rededication service of the 2023/2024 Legal Year of the Rivers State Judiciary, held at Saint Cyprian’s Anglican Church, Hospital Road, Governor Fubara publicly acknowledged Nyesom Wike, the FCT Minister, as his superior.
Amidst the recent political tensions, Fubara emphasized his allegiance to Wike, referring to past disputes as resolved.
Fubara affirmed, “My boss remains my boss. Past issues are behind us. I have not sanctioned any negative remarks about anyone.”
While acknowledging the challenges faced by the state, Fubara expressed determination to fulfill promises made to the citizens despite ongoing political misunderstandings.
He cautioned his supporters against resorting to offensive language toward perceived adversaries, stating that he did not authorize any form of slander.
Fubara stressed the importance of identifying and eliminating hindrances to development, emphasizing the need to overcome adversities for progress.
The public meeting at the rededication service marked the first interaction between Wike and Fubara following their recent public dispute.
The altercation ensued over unmet commitments, leading to the state House of Assembly’s impeachment move against Fubara. However, the governor later apologized to Wike, his predecessor, following interventions.
