The NSA emphasized the need for all deployed security operatives to execute their duties with the utmost professionalism.
Additionally, he urged candidates, political parties, and stakeholders to refrain from engaging in any form of violence.
The statement, signed by Zakari U. Mijinyawa, the Head of Strategic Communication at the Office of the National Security Adviser, conveyed the following.
“The National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, assures residents of Kogi, Bayelsa, and Imo states of security preparedness during the off-cycle elections scheduled for tomorrow (Saturday).”
Ribadu emphasized President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s directive, stating that security agencies have made adequate arrangements to ensure the safety, security, and transparency of the elections.
The NSA, who serves as the Co-Chair of the Inter-Agency Consultative Committee on Election Security, called on all security, intelligence, and law enforcement officers involved in election duties to adhere to professional codes of conduct.
The Federal Government, under President Tinubu’s directive, has mobilized necessary resources for the smooth conduct of the elections.
Ribadu warned of severe consequences for any individual found disrupting the electoral process or abusing their authority.
A monitoring system has been established, with monitors deployed to collect evidence of violence and irregularities during the elections.
