Recognizing the gravity of the issue, Mamman outlined plans to employ AI-driven initiatives to facilitate the return of as many children as possible to school within the next four years. Emphasizing the need for skilled graduates, he also highlighted the government’s focus on improving the quality of education at the tertiary level.

The ministry aims to engage stakeholders in curriculum reviews, promoting skills acquisition, and encouraging universities to integrate practical training and entrepreneurship into their programs. The allocated budget for 2024, totaling N101.45 billion, reflects a commitment to addressing the education crisis, with a particular emphasis on out-of-school children. Rep. Aliyu Mustapha, Chairman of the House Committee on Alternative Education, expressed concern over the rising number of out-of-school children and affirmed the National Assembly’s efforts to increase funding for relevant programs.
