Adeleke asserted that without BVAS, his adversaries might have manipulated the election results, as witnessed in the 2018 elections. Speaking to Ojy Okpe on Arise News on December 27, Adeleke expressed gratitude for the introduction of BVAS, stating that it played a pivotal role in securing his victory.
He acknowledged President Buhari for endorsing BVAS into law, recounting a past encounter where he personally thanked the President for this crucial development. Reflecting on the 2018 election, Adeleke noted that despite winning, he faced challenges from the APC, which later joined the PDP. Despite the attempts to compromise the electoral process, Adeleke maintained his composure and returned to his academic pursuits.
Adeleke highlighted his plans to introduce a system reminiscent of the United States in Nigeria. Drawing inspiration from the U.S. educational system, he emphasized the flexibility it offers to students who may temporarily withdraw from school due to financial constraints or other reasons. Adeleke shared his personal experience of temporarily leaving school to engage in entrepreneurial endeavors, registering as a contractor in the courier service industry.
He expressed his commitment to bringing this flexible educational approach to Nigeria by presenting it to the House of Assembly for legislative consideration. Adeleke emphasized that the U.S. system recognizes high school education as sufficient qualification for the presidency, and since he has completed high school, he aims to complete his studies in criminal justice with a minor in political science by 2021.
