In a significant development, President Bola Tinubu has officially signed the 2024 Appropriation Bill, totaling N28.78 trillion, into law. The President, who arrived at his office at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, at exactly 2 pm, wasted no time in conducting the brief budget signing ceremony, accompanied by key government officials. Present at the ceremony were notable figures, including the President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio, and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon Tajudeen Abbas. Other dignitaries in attendance included the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr Wale Edun; Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar; and the National Security Adviser (NSA), Mallam Nuhu Ribadu.
Also among the officials were the Chief of Staff to the President, Hon Femi Gbajabiamila; National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr Abdullahi Ganduje; and Chairman of the Senate Appropriation Committee, Senator Olamilekan Adeola.
In a move that underscores the administration’s commitment to social welfare, President Tinubu directed the immediate payment of 400,000 NPower beneficiaries. This latest development marks a crucial step in the nation’s fiscal planning and implementation for the year 2024.
