During the mass celebration, Governor Soludo underscored the significance of expressing gratitude for the pivotal role played by the Armed Forces in upholding peace and security. He articulated the collective appreciation for the sacrifices made by these servicemen and women, emphasizing their dedication to safeguarding the nation.
Governor Soludo extended heartfelt condolences to the families of fallen heroes, acknowledging the profound loss they endure. In his prayers, he sought divine strength for those actively engaged in safeguarding the nation, putting their lives on the line in service to their fatherland.
Reflecting on the challenging times faced by Anambra State in March 2022, when eight local government areas were under siege, Governor Soludo credited the professionalism and commitment of the Armed Forces, working in tandem with the Anambra Vigilante services and the support of the community, for the restoration of peace.
He expressed ongoing gratitude and recognition for the sacrifices made by the Armed Forces and reiterated the continuous prayers and support of the people of Anambra for the men and women in uniform.
In a homily delivered earlier, Rev. Fr. Charles Ndubisi, the Chancellor of the Catholic Diocese of Awka, emphasized God’s constant search for those sincerely pursuing their purpose on earth. He encouraged members of the Armed Forces to remain focused and resolute, steering clear of distractions in their noble service.
The thanksgiving mass witnessed the presence of various dignitaries, including Anambra Deputy Governor Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim, Speaker of the State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze, Secretary to the State Government Prof. Solo Chukwulobelu, Chief of Staff to the Governor Mr. Ernest Ezeajughi, Head of Service Theodora Igwegbe, State Chief Judge Justice Onochie Anyachebelu, members of the Anambra Executive Council, the Legislature, Judges, and Service Commanders, among others.
