Vice President Shettima Highlights Sensitivity Of Current Office Responsibilities

Addressing the 140th session of the National Economic Council (NEC) convened virtually on Thursday, March 21, Shettima, who serves as the Council’s chairman, underscored the current administration’s commitment to leaving a legacy of prosperity and opportunity for all Nigerians.

He urged Governors to prioritize initiatives aimed at providing avenues for Nigerians to earn a livelihood with dignity, echoing President Tinubu’s comprehensive eight-point agenda.

Shettima articulated, “We must maintain consistency in implementing measures that alleviate the plight of our citizens while ensuring accountability. Our interventions must be inclusive, benefitting all segments of society without leaving any part of our communities or nation behind.”

Highlighting the significance of empowering entrepreneurs and small business owners, Shettima stressed the potential for innovation, job creation, and economic expansion. He advocated for facilitating access to financing, training, and mentorship programs to unleash the entrepreneurial drive inherent in every Nigerian, thereby igniting a wave of economic growth that benefits the entire populace. The Vice-President emphasized the imperative of inclusivity and equitable access to opportunities, characterizing it as the pathway to uplift every disadvantaged citizen.

Shettima cautioned, “We are in a delicate phase of governance. It is crucial to acknowledge the challenges confronting us and exercise prudent judgment in navigating through them to effect meaningful change.
