Nigerian Army forces deployed in Zamfara State as part of counter-terrorism and counter-insurgency efforts in the North West Region have successfully eliminated a notorious terrorist leader, Junaidu Fasagora, along with numerous members of his group following intense artillery bombardment and ground combat in the Tsafe general area of the state.

In a statement released on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, the Army highlighted that Junaidu Fasagora and his terrorist faction had long been responsible for a string of kidnappings and other terrorist activities targeting civilians across several states in the North West region.

“Their elimination represents a significant triumph in the ongoing battle against terrorism and insurgency,” the statement emphasized.

The Army further asserted that the operation’s success underscores the unwavering commitment of the Nigerian Army to uphold peace and stability not only in the North West region but also across the nation as a whole.

“Our troops remain dedicated to sustaining the current operations against terrorism, insurgency, and various criminal activities to restore safety and security to areas afflicted by unrest,” the statement concluded.
