Adeleke Given Seven Days By NANS To Address 100% School Fees Increase....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Governor Ademola Adeleke has been given a stern seven-day deadline by the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) leadership regarding the staggering 100 percent surge in tuition fees across Osun state-owned institutions.

In a press conference held yesterday, Ogungbe Taiwo, the Chairman of NANS in Osun State, revealed that a crucial assembly convened at the Federal Polytechnic Ede uncovered the unsettling reality of the Osun State Government’s false assurances concerning student welfare.

Taiwo criticized Governor Adeleke for his blatant disregard for student welfare and the absence of student representation in his administration. He demanded an immediate rollback of the exorbitant fee hikes in Osun State-owned institutions, expressing dismay over the lack of relief measures and infrastructural advancements.

The student body issued a firm warning of potential mass mobilization and relocation of their headquarters to the Governor’s office if their demands remained unmet within the stipulated seven days. They emphasized the urgency of addressing the deteriorating conditions on campuses and urged the government to prioritize student issues.

Taiwo emphasized, “Governor Adeleke has failed to prioritize student welfare and integrate us into his governance. We demand the reversal of the steep tuition fee hikes in state-owned institutions, which have soared by over 100 percent. Additionally, the government’s lack of supplementary relief beyond what the Federal Government provided is unacceptable.”

“We demand an immediate reversal of the escalated tuition fees in Osun State-owned institutions. Witnessing the hardships students endure is distressing. We insist on a complete rollback of the fee hikes; failure to act promptly will prompt widespread mobilization by the student body, including relocating our headquarters to the Governor’s office.”

“We express profound disappointment in the governance of Governor Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke for disregarding student welfare. Despite initial optimism, anti-student policies have been enforced, leaving us lagging behind other Southwest states. We implore the government to prioritize student welfare.”

“We reiterate our call for substantial relief measures and infrastructural enhancements to improve the learning environment on campuses. The road networks within tertiary institutions are in deplorable conditions, and yet no action has been taken to rectify them. Many lecture halls fall below standard.”

“Despite our persistent appeals through official channels, apathy persists. Hence, we issue a seven-day ultimatum to the government to address our grievances. Failure to comply will lead to peaceful protests and roadblocks in Osogbo, the state capital.”

“These demands echo the unified voice of students across higher institutions in Osun State, endorsed by the presidents of student unions in the state. We urge the government to heed our pleas and prioritize the welfare and rights of Nigerian students.
