Ikolo Clement, one of the individuals sought by the Nigerian military, has turned himself over to authorities.

Clement, recently appointed as King of Ewu Kingdom in Ughelli South Local Government Area, Delta State, is among the eight persons wanted by the Nigerian Army Defence Headquarters in connection with the killing of 17 soldiers on March 14 at Okuama Community.

The monarch was listed as wanted along with Prof Ekpekpo Arthur, the President-General of Ewu, and Reuben Baru, who gained notoriety through a viral video detailing the motives behind the soldiers’ deaths.

Also sought is suspected militant leader Akevwru Daniel Omotegbono, alias Amagbein, whom soldiers traced to the Igbomoturu community in Southern-Ijaw Local Government Area, Bayelsa State, shortly after the incident but missed apprehending.

Prior to surrendering to the police, the monarch held a press conference during which he refuted any involvement in the killings.
