EFCC Launches Investigation Into Ikpeazu’s Administration....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has initiated an investigation into the tenure of former Abia State governor, Okezie Ikpeazu, as reported by Naija News. This probe was prompted by findings from forensic auditors appointed by the current governor, Dr. Alex Otti.

According to sources within the anti-graft agency, a comprehensive inquiry into Ikpeazu’s administration is underway. Allegations being scrutinized encompass a wide spectrum, including financial mismanagement, breaches of Abia State’s public procurement regulations, and the alleged diversion of ₦10 billion, purportedly transferred from UBA to Ferotex Construction company for a purported airport project that never materialized.

Additionally, it’s reported that the EFCC has been furnished with copies of a forensic audit report conducted by KPMG Advisory Services, which purportedly implicates the former governor in acts of fiscal impropriety during his eight-year tenure. This audit report, commissioned by the administration of Alex Otti, serves as a significant catalyst for the EFCC’s investigation.

Acknowledging the significance of this development, the EFCC has lauded Governor Otti’s administration for its proactive stance, deeming it a pioneering move within the Nigerian political landscape.

Insights gleaned from the forensic audit reveal systematic deviations from Abia State’s Public Procurement Law in the awarding of contracts worth billions of naira, allegedly orchestrated by the former governor and certain state officials.
