El-Rufai’s Son Denies Involvement In Government Contracts During Father’s Tenure....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Bello El-Rufai, son of former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, has asserted that he had no involvement in contract awards during his father’s time in office. He disclosed that immediately after his father assumed the governorship, he was sent away from the political scene.
In an interview with media personality Yaya Abba, Bello explained that during the first four years of his father’s administration, he worked in the Enterprise Business Unit of a technology firm, gaining insight into organizational structures.
He emphasized his belief in his father’s leadership qualities, stating, “I think he (Nasir) is an exceptional mind and the sort of leader that Nigeria really needs.” Bello also mentioned his active involvement in his father’s campaign, particularly anticipating the political changes that were to come.
Addressing his absence from contract dealings, Bello stated, “Unlike the children of the governors back then, I didn’t really stay in Kaduna doing contracts.” He further elaborated on his understanding of his father’s decision to keep him away from such matters, noting the potential risks associated with his proximity to power.
Recent accusations by Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani regarding the administration’s financial legacy, including significant debt and contract liabilities, have added scrutiny to El-Rufai’s tenure. The state’s House of Assembly has initiated a probe into these claims.
