Speaking at the African Democratic Congress (ADC) Democratic Summit held at Arewa House, Kaduna, Dantalle emphasized the critical importance of solid political party structures for sustaining democracy. He lamented the prevalence of leadership disputes within political parties, noting that energy is often diverted towards ousting leaders rather than building robust party frameworks conducive to democratic progress.

Dantalle highlighted the historical strength of political party structures in Nigeria’s earlier republics, where clear ideologies and integrity characterized the democratic process. He emphasized the need for contemporary parties to emulate the integrity-driven leadership of the past, focusing on national interest over personal gain.

Acknowledging the current fragility of party politics, Dantalle expressed optimism for the future, urging all political parties to prioritize the development of strong and unified structures. He announced IPAC’s commitment to this cause through a newly formulated 4-Year Strategic Plan of Action spanning 2024 to 2027. This plan aims to enhance party structures, promote capacity building among party leaders, and enforce internal democracy in candidate nominations and leadership transitions in accordance with constitutional provisions.
