The source disclosed that among those abducted was a student of the Federal Polytechnic, Nasarawa, who was en route to Abuja to visit family.

It was gathered that following the attack, a driver managed to escape and promptly alerted local law enforcement about the incident.

“The incident involved the kidnapping of approximately thirty individuals between Nasarawa and Abuja on Friday. The victims were taken from two buses and held captive in the Uke area of Nasarawa State,” the source revealed.

“One of those abducted is an HND student from the Federal Polytechnic, Nasarawa, who was traveling to Abuja to visit family,” the source added.

Confirming the incident, Rahman Nansel, the Nasarawa Police Public Relations Officer, acknowledged that while the number reported (30) was exaggerated, three victims had been successfully rescued and efforts were underway to locate the remaining abductees.

“The claim of thirty abducted persons was exaggerated. We have recovered an 18-seater bus at the scene and rescued three individuals. Our search and rescue operations are ongoing,” Nansel stated.
