The primary reason for the party’s withdrawal is the absence of official communication from the Abia State Independent Electoral Commission (ABSIEC). Engr. Sterling Uruakpa, the State Assistant Secretary and acting Publicity Secretary of the APC, emphasized that the party cannot depend on information shared through social media regarding the elections.

Uruakpa underscored the necessity for ABSIEC to utilize proper and official channels to relay important updates and details to the party. He reiterated the APC’s demand for transparency and inclusiveness in the electoral process to uphold credibility among all stakeholders.

“The All Progressives Congress is the ruling political party in Nigeria and the largest party in Africa and will not accept any form of contempt or disrespect from ABSIEC,” Uruakpa stated. He called on ABSIEC to adhere to due process, ensure inclusivity, and provide a fair playing field for all political parties to foster confidence and trust among the political parties and the public.
