The arrests followed reliable intelligence, which led to the capture of the suspects—identified as Nura Halilu, Salim Mohammed, Saifullahi Usman, and Usman Mohammed. During the raid, law enforcement officers seized firearms, counterfeit currency, and other incriminating items.
The investigation revealed that the hideout was linked to a gang leader, who remains at large, and was also involved in drug trafficking, the sale of stolen mobile phones, and other illicit activities. Among the recovered items were a locally manufactured firearm, cartridges, four knives, and a large quantity of dried leaves believed to be Indian hemp.
One of the arrested suspects, Ismail Tasiu, also known as “Old School,” confessed to having operated in the area for over 10 years. Another suspect, Nura Halilu, admitted to being part of an armed robbery and drug syndicate led by a fugitive named Murtala.
Commissioner Disu confirmed that all the suspects are in custody and will face prosecution.
