Nollywood actor Damilola Ogunsi has responded to an incident where a viewer mistakenly criticized the director of ‘Anikulapo: Rise of the Spectre’ for casting “a white” actor as an angel in the series….READ ALSO
The viewer, identified as Ohjay1, shared a clip from the series where the protagonist, Saro (portrayed by Kunle Remi), encounters an angel (portrayed by Damilola Ogunsi) at the gates of heaven, expressing dissatisfaction with the casting choice, stating, “This thing has to stop, why use a white person as an angel in a black movie #Anikulapo.”
In response, Ogunsi, who is an albino, expressed amusement at not being recognized, emphasizing that he is “blacker” than anyone in the scene.
Reposting the viewer’s tweet, Ogunsi wrote, “It feels good not to be recognized. I’m sure I’m ‘blacker’ than anyone in that scene.”
