Uganda were the most recent side to exit the tournament after falling 3–1 to Nigeria’s Super Eagles on Tuesday night in their final Group C match.
The Cranes entered the encounter knowing that only a victory would keep their qualification hopes alive, but they were overpowered by a confident Nigerian team that controlled much of the game.
Already gaining momentum in the group, the Super Eagles dictated the tempo and sealed a 3–1 win to book their place in the knockout rounds.
The defeat left Uganda rooted to the bottom of Group C with just one point, finishing behind Nigeria, Tunisia and Tanzania, and bringing their AFCON journey to an end at the group stage.
Nigeria’s performance against Uganda showcased their attacking sharpness and improved defensive solidity, as they used a blend of experience and speed to overwhelm their East African opponents.
The result further highlighted Nigeria’s growing confidence in the competition and strengthened their credentials as one of the leading contenders ahead of the Round of 16.
