CAF said the bidding framework was developed in collaboration with its independent advisory partner, PwC, as well as technical, financial and legal experts, to ensure the selection process is transparent, competitive and conducted in line with international best practices.
The announcement comes as preparations continue for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations, which will be jointly hosted by Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda from June 19 to July 17, 2027. The tournament will mark the first time the three East African nations co-host the competition.
CAF noted that the Africa Cup of Nations has continued to grow in stature and commercial value, attracting increasing global attention through television broadcasts and digital platforms.
The governing body described AFCON as Africa’s flagship sporting event and one of the most widely followed football tournaments worldwide, with a cumulative global television audience exceeding 3.2 billion viewers and more than six billion digital views across its various platforms.
