Aisha Lawal Breaks Silence On Keeping Daughter, Partner Away From Public Attention

Nollywood actress Aisha Lawal has explained her decision to keep her daughter, Zara, and her partner away from public attention, saying the choice was influenced by her desire to protect her family from unnecessary scrutiny and online criticism.

According to Bush Radio Academy, the actress made the disclosure during an interview with Morayo Afolabi-Brown, where she explained that shielding her daughter from the public was a deliberate decision and not one motivated by fear of backlash on social media.

Aisha revealed that Zara was born following a difficult pregnancy experience. She disclosed that she became pregnant with twins in her 30s, but one of the babies did not survive.

The actress said the experience surrounding her pregnancy and childbirth made her particularly protective of Zara and strengthened her resolve to keep the child away from social media.

She explained that she was uncomfortable with the way children are sometimes exposed to criticism and bullying online, adding that she would rather protect her daughter from such experiences than expose her to unwanted public attention.

Aisha recalled deliberately covering Zara’s face during Rakeem’s birthday celebration, stressing that she wanted to preserve the child’s privacy because of the circumstances surrounding her birth.

She maintained that she was not concerned about the criticism her decision might attract, insisting that her priority was ensuring her daughter grew up away from the pressures and negativity associated with public exposure.

The actress also revealed that she had intentionally kept her partner and the father of her children away from the public space. According to her, maintaining privacy around certain aspects of her personal life helps preserve the respect and dignity attached to them.

Aisha emphasized that her decision to protect her family from public scrutiny was personal and deliberate, rather than a response to what people might say about her choices.
