Senate President Godswill Akpabio has offered his perspective on the recent clash involving Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike and FCT Senator Ireti Kinigbe. Akpabio advised Wike to disregard the senator’s remarks, emphasizing that criticism is inevitable regardless of the minister’s actions.
Akpabio shared his advice on Tuesday during the inauguration of the Kugbo Bus Terminal construction in Nyanya, Abuja. He remarked, “Many will criticize. I saw a legislator on TV saying she wasn’t consulted. However, as a senator, she must abide by decisions made.”
He urged Wike to focus on his developmental projects, praising the minister’s efforts in enhancing transportation networks, revamping roads, and establishing modern facilities. The Kugbo Bus Terminal, according to Akpabio, aims to streamline movement, alleviate traffic congestion, and enhance residents’ quality of life.
Earlier in the event, Wike expressed gratitude to Akpabio for launching the project and recognized the Senate and House Committees on FCT and Area Council for securing funding through the 2024 Appropriation Act. He underscored the project’s significance in ensuring accessibility and safety for commuters, particularly during adverse weather conditions, and reducing incidents of fraudulent activities during transportation.
