This commitment was unveiled during the Government Townhall meeting, which was an integral component of the Association’s Annual Convention.
Speaking on behalf of numerous attending members, Dr. Tom Mbeke Ekanem, a retired expert in water quality assurance engineering, conveyed the diaspora community’s eagerness to provide strategic aid to the state’s populace in diverse ways, should the opportunity arise.
He also affirmed their intention to attract investors to the state, drawing inspiration from the successful Indian diaspora model to accelerate overall state development.
In response, Senator Akon Eyakenyi, the Deputy Governor, extended gratitude to the association for their selfless offer of skills and knowledge for the state’s benefit.
She assured them of the unwavering willingness of Governor Pastor Umo Eno, the government, and the people to consistently involve their expertise in state matters. She also guaranteed unobstructed access to government officials for seamless communication.
During the event, the AKISAN members were presented with the developmental agenda known as the ARISE Agenda, which outlines the priorities of the Governor Umo Eno administration. The potential areas of collaboration were also highlighted, paving the way for a meaningful partnership aimed at advancing the state’s progress.
