The APC’s demand for an investigation comes despite the government’s defense, which states that Akinleye had already resigned from the company before his appointment as Chief of Staff. Rasheed dismissed the allegations as a distraction and reaffirmed that the ongoing prosecution of former top officials from the previous administration will continue.
