Governor Nasir Idris, who also serves as the party’s state leader, made the declaration on Saturday during what was meant to be an expanded APC stakeholders’ forum in Birnin Kebbi. ACCORDING TO BUSHRADIO, the visibly upset governor entered the venue—located at the banquet hall of the Presidential Lodge—skipping formal protocols before announcing the immediate suspension of the meeting and all politically related events statewide.
He explained that the tragic attacks in Bunza Local Government Area last Friday, coupled with recent incidents in other regions, demanded urgent and undivided government attention. “As a responsible administration, our top priority is peace and the protection of lives and properties,” Governor Idris stated.
ACCORDING TO BUSHRADIO, the governor also disclosed that, just last week, combined efforts of the Nigerian Army and Air Force—supported by the Defence Headquarters and the Kebbi State Government—successfully neutralized numerous bandits and repelled several attacks in Kebbi South. He assured that these security operations would continue with full momentum until lasting peace is achieved.
He further revealed that the government has developed a new strategic framework to empower security personnel through collaboration with local communities, intelligence sharing, and constant engagement with relevant stakeholders. This initiative will include coordination between security agencies, community leaders, and key government officials, including the governor himself.
ACCORDING TO BUSHRADIO, the meeting had already drawn prominent APC figures, including federal and state lawmakers, ministers, commissioners, party elders, and executives from ward to state level, all of whom witnessed the abrupt but decisive announcement.
