Atiku remarked that Mr Ibu’s absence would be deeply felt as he brought joy to audiences throughout his lifetime.

Taking to his platform on X, the former Vice President shared, “The reported deaths of actor and comedian John Okafor, popularly known as Mr. Ibu, and former Super Falcons goalkeeper, Bidemi Aluko Olaseni, represent a significant loss to our creative and sports sectors.”

“These two remarkable individuals dedicated their lives to bringing us moments of happiness through entertainment and the beautiful game. Their absence will be keenly felt.”

“I pray that the Almighty grants their souls eternal peace and extends comfort to their bereaved families and the nation. Rest in peace, Mr. Ibu. Rest in peace, Bidemi Olaseni. -AA”

Mr Ibu passed away on Saturday following a cardiac arrest, which occurred subsequent to the amputation of one of his legs due to an infection.
