Armed assailants have reportedly carried out a deadly assault, resulting in fatalities and abductions in Madaka community, situated in the Rafi local government area of Niger State.

According to BUSHRADIOGIST, the attackers descended upon the community’s marketplace around 3 pm on Thursday, unleashing gunfire on unsuspecting civilians. Eyewitnesses recounted that the assailants made their presence known amidst the bustling market by firing indiscriminately, leading to multiple casualties.

Reports indicate that amid the chaos, the assailants abducted several individuals from the village, their whereabouts currently unknown.

This incident comes in the wake of another tragic attack merely two days earlier, where gunmen raided Pangu Gari, claiming the lives of the district head and four others.

Brigadier General Bello Abdullahi Mohammed (rtd), the Commissioner for Homeland Security in Niger State, confirmed the distressing event. He assured that the state government, in collaboration with security agencies, is actively engaged in efforts to quell the recurrent onslaughts perpetrated by bandits targeting agricultural settlements across the state.
