Sabuwa has been grappling with security challenges, plagued by the presence of bandits and their informants. Alhaji Basiru Musa, Chairman of Dandume Local Government Area, confirmed the report, indicating that the kidnapped women, believed to be from Dandume, were intercepted by bandits on their way from Sabuwa around 9 pm. Despite unconfirmed reports of some women escaping, the chairman pledged to verify and provide updates.

Sabuwa and Dandume are among the local government areas heavily affected by banditry in Katsina State. Concurrently, gunmen from the Siddi forest reportedly infiltrated Tashar Nadaya near the Gazari district border in Sabuwa LG around the same time.
