Binance Faces Legal Heat: EFCC Lodges $35 Million Money Laundering Allegations, Seeks Extradition....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has initiated legal proceedings against Binance Holdings Limited and two of its top executives, Tigran Gambaryan and Nadeem Anjarwalla, with charges amounting to $35,400,000 in alleged money laundering. Anjarwalla, who is currently evading authorities, faces extradition following a court warrant secured by the EFCC.

Collaborating with international law enforcement agencies such as Interpol, the FBI, the UK government, and Kenyan authorities, the EFCC is intensifying efforts to arrest and extradite Anjarwalla.

The charges, detailed in court documents filed on Thursday, March 28, 2024, at the Federal High Court of Nigeria, Abuja division, accuse Binance and its executives of various offenses related to financial regulations. These include operating specialized financial businesses without a valid license, engaging in financial activities without authorization, unlawfully negotiating foreign exchange rates, conspiring to conceal the origin of proceeds from unlawful activities, and concealing revenue generated by Binance as proceeds of illegal activities.

In response to these legal actions, Tigran Gambaryan has taken legal recourse, filing a lawsuit against the National Security Adviser (NSA) Nuhu Ribadu and the EFCC, alleging violations of his fundamental rights. Gambaryan, represented by Olujoke Aliyu of Aluko and Oyebode Law Firm, has sought redress before Justice Inyang Ekwo.

Similarly, Nadeem Anjarwalla, the regional manager of Binance in Africa, who escaped custody, has also filed a separate lawsuit seeking enforcement of his rights before Justice Ekwo.
