The sources confirmed that among the passengers, including the driver, seven individuals were killed, and seven others sustained severe injuries. The explosion was so powerful that some bodies were shattered into pieces.

The use of IEDs has become a prominent warfare tactic due to their weakened state and depleted capacity.
These improvised explosive devices, often locally made bombs, have caused numerous casualties among innocent civilians in Borno state, predominantly affecting women and children.
