Iran Adds More Vessels in Gesture of Goodwill
Trump further stated that Iran initially offered eight oil tankers, later increasing the number to ten as a form of apology for unspecified remarks. He noted that all ten vessels sailed through the Strait of Hormuz under Pakistani flags.

“They said, ‘To show you the fact that we’re real and solid and we’re there, we’re going to let you have eight boats of oil, eight boats, eight big boats of oil,’” Trump told reporters.

The president said the development reassured American negotiators that they were dealing with credible partners, adding, “They were right, and they were real,” in reference to the successful passage of the tankers.

Trump also confirmed that the United States has held extensive discussions with Iranian officials, though he did not disclose the identities of those involved. He described the movement of the tankers as a sign that diplomatic efforts are gaining traction.

When asked about tolls in the Strait of Hormuz, Trump acknowledged that such practices exist but suggested they should not be allowed, noting that Iran currently enforces them to some extent.

The Strait of Hormuz remains a vital global oil route, and Iran’s influence over the passage underscores its strategic importance to international energy supply chains.
