Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has appointed seven new traditional rulers following the recent creation of seven monarchies in the state.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Among those appointed is Sani Ahmadu Ribadu, the younger brother of National Security Adviser (NSA) Nuhu Ribadu.

The appointments come after Fintiri’s announcement on December 23, 2024, to establish five chiefdoms and two emirates. These newly created monarchies include four second-class and three third-class titles, aimed at addressing public calls for enhanced traditional leadership structures in Adamawa.

The move followed widespread public demand for better representation and recognition of various communities.

The newly appointed rulers include Sani Ahmadu Ribadu as Emir of Fufore, Alheri Nyako as ‘Tol Huba’, Bulus Luka Gadiga as ‘Mbege Ka Michika’, Ali Danburam as ‘Ptil Madagali’, John Dio as ‘Gubo Yungur’, Aggrey Ali as ‘Kumu of Gombi’, and Ahmadu Saibaru as Emir of Maiha.

According to the governor’s spokesperson, Humwashi Wonosikou, the appointments were based on merit and the individuals’ popularity among the people.

The full list of the new royal appointments includes:

  • HRH Alhaji Sani Ahmadu Ribadu: Emir of Fufore
  • HRH Barrister Alheri B. Nyako: Tol Huba
  • HRH Prof. Bulus Luka Gadiga: Mbege Ka Michika
  • HRH Dr. Ali Danburam (MBBS, FWACP, FCCP): Ptil Madagali
  • HRH Aggrey Ali: Kumu of Gombi
