Recalling the Christmas Eve incident, where gunmen invaded the local councils, claiming the lives of at least 115 villagers and ravaging 17 communities, the gravity of the situation was confirmed by the state governor, Caleb Mutfwang. In an interview on Tuesday, Governor Mutfwang reported the extensive destruction and confirmed that scores of residents are still missing.
In response to the heinous attack, President Tinubu issued a statement through his spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale, from Abuja on Tuesday. Tinubu directed security agencies to swiftly intervene, thoroughly scour the entire region, and apprehend the perpetrators responsible for this tragedy.
Furthermore, the President instructed the immediate mobilization of relief resources to assist the surviving victims and ensure prompt medical treatment for the wounded.
While extending condolences to the government and people of Plateau, President Tinubu assured Nigerians that those responsible for spreading death, pain, and sorrow would not evade justice. The President remains committed to seeking justice and providing support to the affected community during this challenging time.
