Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, has officially defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
On Thursday, the governor was formally received into the ruling party and presented with his APC membership card.
Mutfwang’s move follows his resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which he communicated in a letter dated December 29, 2025, addressed to the Ward Chairman of Ampang West Ward in Mangu Local Government Area.
In the letter, the governor announced that his resignation took immediate effect, citing the need for focused leadership, clearer direction and improved service delivery.
The correspondence, which was acknowledged by the ward leadership the following day, also expressed gratitude to the PDP for providing him the platform to serve within Nigeria’s democratic system.
Mutfwang thanked party leaders and supporters for their years of support, explaining that prevailing political realities informed his decision.
“Considering the realities of the moment and guided by my commitment to purposeful leadership, clarity of direction and effective service delivery, I am compelled to seek an alternative political platform,” the governor stated.
