Highlighting the allocation specifics, Wike mentioned that the N17.1 billion was designated for completing abandoned projects and sustaining critical initiatives. Notably, N5 billion was set aside as counterpart funding for the Greater Abuja Water Supply project, and another N4.5 billion was allocated for the design and construction of the Nigeria Cultural Centre and Millennium Tower.

Furthermore, the minister disclosed that N3 billion was directed towards the rehabilitation of the federal secretariat, while N4 billion was allotted for the Vice President’s residence’s completion. Additionally, N609.7 million was budgeted for settling residential and office accommodations for international organizations in the FCT.

Wike emphasized the importance of the N17.1 billion budget, stating, “The money is just N17.1 billion, so what can I say other than to say, please help us pass it,” addressing the lawmakers.

Regarding the performance of the 2023 budget, Wike reported that although N15.5 billion was allocated for infrastructural development, only N8 billion was released, constituting 52 percent of the budget.
