The attack reportedly began around 2:10 a.m., leaving two brothers, Josiah Pogu Pudza and Enoch Pogu Pudza, dead. Another victim, Esther Yohanna, sustained a bullet injury during the assault.
The local government chairman’s media team, led by Mustapha Madu, confirmed the incident and revealed that the terrorists also looted food supplies and livestock from the village.
The victims were laid to rest in a ceremony attended by the local government chairman, who extended condolences to the bereaved families and inspected the damaged church, houses, and shops.
In a separate development, the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, condemned a recent bombing at the Nganzai Divisional Police Headquarters in Borno State, which led to the deaths of several officers. Egbetokun praised the bravery of officers who resisted the attack and directed the Zone 15 Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Kenechukwu Onwuemelie, to hunt down those responsible.
