Davido’s Associate Ego Dies In Thailand After Reported Complications From Cosmetic Procedure

Nigerian-British businessman and associate of popular Nigerian singer Davido, Igho “Tiny” Ubiribo, popularly known as Ego, has died in Thailand at the age of 43.

Ego reportedly died in March 2026 after suffering complications following a penis enlargement procedure at an unnamed clinic while on a luxury holiday in Thailand with his wife, Danielle Simba Allen.

According to reports presented during an inquest at the Inner West London Coroner’s Court, Ego had undergone a cosmetic procedure involving the injection of 40 millilitres of hyaluronic acid and lidocaine into his penis.

After the procedure, Ego was staying with his wife at a Marriott hotel in Bangkok when he reportedly complained of chest pain and lost consciousness twice. He was subsequently rushed to Sukhumvit Hospital for medical attention.

His wife reportedly informed doctors about the cosmetic procedure and the substances that had been injected. However, Ego lost consciousness before a recommended CT scan could be carried out.

Doctors later determined that he had suffered a pulmonary embolism, a potentially fatal condition involving a blockage of a blood vessel in the lungs. He was subsequently transferred to intensive care as medical personnel attempted to save his life.

According to the reports, medical personnel performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation for more than 100 minutes, but Ego died in the early hours of March 6.

A postmortem examination reportedly conducted in the United Kingdom later found cellular material in his lungs that matched the hyaluronic acid used during the cosmetic procedure.

Following the inquest, Coroner Jean Harkin reportedly concluded that Ego died from a pulmonary embolism caused by complications arising from the cosmetic procedure.

Ego was known for publicly showcasing his luxurious lifestyle on social media and was regarded as a prominent figure within Nigerian entertainment and social circles.

At his funeral, Davido reportedly described his associate’s death as “heavy” and said the circumstances surrounding the tragedy did not feel real.

Lagos socialite Cubana Chief Priest also paid tribute to Ego, sharing footage from the funeral while remembering their relationship and the lifestyle they had enjoyed together.

The death has continued to attract attention among friends, associates and followers, with tributes pouring in for the businessman following his unexpected passing.
