Confirming his return, Shaibu’s Chief Press Secretary, Musa Ebomhiana, verified to Vanguard that his boss would be back in office today.

A source with proximity to the governor revealed that Obaseki remained taken aback by his deputy’s actions, despite endeavors by certain political leaders to mediate the conflict. The governor might establish a new office outside the Government House, where he would tend to official matters.

However, it remains uncertain whether the governor would also conduct executive meetings in this new office, situated approximately 1,500 meters from the infrequently used emergency gate of the Government House.

Today, the governor is scheduled to host Sheriff Oborevwori, his counterpart from Delta State, and other influential figures from Delta and Edo states at a colloquium commemorating the 60th anniversary of the Midwest Referendum.

In an announcement made by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Andrew Okungbowa, the colloquium is one of several events planned to celebrate the diamond jubilee of the referendum.
