Despite Intelligence And Savvy, Nigeria’s Challenges Can Still Derail Your Business – Ubi Franklin Reflects On Two Major Setbacks This Year Music executive Ubi Franklin recently shared his experiences of two significant business setbacks he faced this year.

In a post on his Instagram Stories, Ubi revealed that he invested over N89 million into a property intended for his business operations. After leasing the building, he discovered that it was jointly owned by a man and his wife. Ubi faced resistance from the wife, who insisted that his company vacate the premises. With his substantial investment at stake, he found himself at a loss for what to do. Additionally, he mentioned that two investors who had each contributed N10 million were adamant about getting their money back.

Ubi eventually had to relocate to a different property, only to encounter yet another setback. After he had set up the new location, he received a call from his staff informing him that the building was scheduled for demolition due to encroachment issues.

Reflecting on these challenges, Ubi described this year as “one of those kind of years” but expressed his belief that he will eventually recover his losses. He emphasized the importance of prayer in Nigeria, noting that business mishaps can arise from “the government or from bad staff.
