Tribunal, which upheld the victory of Governor Dauda Lawal of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) over Dr. Bello Matawalle of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
He contends that this ruling represents a miscarriage of justice, a blatant disregard for the rule of law, and an overtly partisan decision.
In a statement released in Abuja, Dr. Shinkafi expressed his concern that this judgment constitutes a regressive step in the development of sustainable democracy in Nigeria.
He expressed bewilderment at how the tribunal overlooked the flagrant violations of the Electoral Act 2022, INEC regulations, guidelines, and the manual for the 2023 general election.
Specifically, he highlighted the disenfranchisement of over 100,000 voters in Birnin Magaji and Maradun local government areas, despite substantial oral testimonies and documentary evidence presented during the tribunal proceedings.
He argued that this appears to be a deliberate effort to undermine the integrity of the nation’s democratic processes.
