Drama In Nollywood: Stanley Ontop Accuses Abuja Big Shots Of Manipulating AGN Presidency

Popular Nollywood actor and filmmaker, Ajemba Stanley — widely known as Stanley Ontop — has alleged that Rita Daniels, mother of star actress Regina Daniels, was denied victory in the recently concluded Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) national election held in Edo State on Saturday, December 6, 2025.

Rita Daniels contested for the Guild presidency but lost to the current National Secretary, actor Abubakar Yakubu.

Reacting after the results were announced, Stanley took to Instagram, insisting that the AGN presidential contest was marred by irregularities.

He expressed strong dissatisfaction, accusing influential forces in Abuja of manipulating the process.

According to him:
“It’s clear the election wasn’t fair, especially concerning Hon. Rita Daniels’ bid. There are troubling claims that a powerful figure in Abuja interfered with the outcome.

“I respect the victors in other categories, but the presidential result is highly suspicious. Unfortunately, some delegates chose personal benefits over the integrity of the Guild. Regina’s mother would have defeated Yakubu easily, but Abuja hijacked everything. Shame on them — it is well!”

In another development, Nollywood actress Dayo Amusa has emerged as the newly elected National Vice President of the AGN.

Her media office confirmed the news via a statement released on Monday, December 8, 2025, noting that her victory reflects the confidence Guild members have in her long-standing commitment to the industry.

Amusa pledged to bring innovation, structure, and consistent leadership to the AGN Secretariat, adding that her wealth of experience in acting and film production will help drive improved opportunities for actors nationwide.
