The denial by the secret police follows allegations made by the Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to the Kano State Governor, Sanusi Bature.
The CPS had asserted that the Kano State government suspected the judges involved in the March 18 election verdict were subjected to intimidation and arrest by security agencies.
In response to these allegations, Dr. Peter Afunanya, the spokesperson for the DSS, categorically rejected the claims, deeming them as baseless. Afunanya questioned the rationale behind arresting judges and stated that the allegations were not true.
The controversy arose after the CPS expressed doubts about the circumstances surrounding the judgment, including the location and conditions under which it was delivered.
He also raised questions about the absence of the declared election winner in the case, emphasizing the need for transparency in the judicial process.
