During a courtesy visit by the zonal commanding officer of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in charge of Edo, Delta, and Anambra states, assistant corps marshal Chukwuma Njoku, and Edo State sector commander, Paul John Okpe, at the Government House in Benin City, Governor Obaseki emphasized the extensive network of federal roads in Edo State, which, unfortunately, has been abandoned by the federal government.

Governor Obaseki expressed the need for remedial work on major federal roads like the Benin-Auchi Road and the Ovia River Bridge, which have become hazardous and pose a serious risk to road users.

He highlighted the increasing accidents and loss of lives on the roads as a major security concern in the state and called for collaboration with the FRSC to improve emergency response and training for first responders.

The zonal commander, in turn, commended Governor Obaseki for supporting and collaborating with the FRSC and mentioned their efforts to improve visibility and response capabilities in the state.
