EFCC Breaks Silence On Diezani’s Property: Denies Flouting Court Order

In a statement issued on Monday, the EFCC firmly declared that no court directive ordered its operatives to vacate the premises located at House 6, Aso Drive, Asokoro, Abuja. The Commission clarified that it had lawfully obtained possession of the property on March 27, 2025, following a court ruling.

Justice Musa Liman of the Federal High Court granted the EFCC possession of the property after it was established that the house was acquired through illicit means by former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke, and had been permanently forfeited to the federal government.

Reaffirming its commitment to upholding the rule of law, the EFCC dismissed the media reports as misleading and an attempt to distort the facts of the case.

“The attention of the EFCC has been drawn to media claims suggesting that the Commission defied a court order issued by Justice Musa Liman, allegedly directing it to vacate the property,” the statement read.

“Although the EFCC typically does not respond to baseless insinuations regarding judicial procedures, it is essential to clarify the inaccurate narratives in the public domain. The Commission legally secured an ex-parte order on March 27, 2025, to take possession of the property.”

The agency further stated that it did not conceal or misrepresent any material facts in court when obtaining the order to remove the occupant, Chief Ikechi Emenike, from the property. According to the EFCC, contempt proceedings involving Emenike in a separate court have no connection to the possession order it received.
