Security forces have detained an unidentified individual found in possession of a bomb at a bank situated in Dadin Kowa town, situated within the Jos South area of Plateau State. Upon the discovery of the explosive device, an alert was raised, and swift action was taken to restrain the man, averting a potential catastrophe.
According to insights from security analyst Zagazola Makama’s report on X, the bank’s vigilant security personnel played a pivotal role in thwarting the attack by identifying the suspect.
In the wake of the incident, an angered crowd assembled, demanding the immediate punishment of the suspect. Eventually, the individual was handed over to the police for thorough investigation.
A photograph accompanying Makama’s report depicted the bomb fastened around the suspect’s abdomen. However, it remains uncertain whether the individual has any ties to terrorist organizations within the country.
In a separate tragic event, unknown assailants launched a deadly assault, claiming the lives of eleven individuals, including a pregnant woman, in Ole’Adag’aklo village within Usha Council Ward of Agatu Local Government Area (LGA), Benue State.
The violent attack unfolded on a Sunday evening, sending shockwaves throughout the community. Eyewitnesses recounted that the attackers descended upon the village, indiscriminately firing weapons, resulting in fatalities and the abduction of several residents. Chaos ensued as villagers attempted to flee the sudden onslaught.
Yakubu Ochepo, Chairman of Agatu LGA, confirmed the distressing details to journalists, stating, “11 people lost their lives. Among the victims, seven bodies have been recovered, including those of a pregnant woman, an elderly man, and five youths.” He further mentioned that soldiers were deployed to the scene to retrieve the bodies, successfully recovering the remaining four.
