Bright Okon, an artisan, met a tragic end at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) Umuahia after a fatal fall from a ladder while working at a prominent hotel in the area. The incident occurred around 12:30 pm on Thursday as Okon was engaged in repair tasks within the hotel premises.
Reports indicate that Okon, aged around 24, lost his footing and suffered a severe head injury upon impact with the ground, rendering him unconscious. Prompt action by hotel staff saw him swiftly transported to the Federal Medical Centre for urgent medical attention.
Despite efforts made, medical professionals ultimately confirmed Okon’s passing.
In response to the incident, the hotel management promptly notified the Central Police Station (CPC), prompting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
