Popular social commentator Isaac Fayose has reaffirmed his support for the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, insisting that his political allegiance remains unchanged despite recently meeting with Seyi Tinubu and other prominent figures.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Fayose made the declaration in a Facebook post on Thursday, a day after revealing that he spent time with Seyi Tinubu, businessman Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, and several others following an interview on Arise Television.

He stressed that maintaining cordial relationships with supporters of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) does not affect his commitment to the Obidient movement or his support for Obi.

According to Fayose, politics should not destroy personal relationships, adding that mutual respect can exist despite differing political choices.

“Yes, I spent quality time with Seyi Tinubu, Cubana Chief Priest, Tosin, Prince and others last night after my interview with Arise News,” he wrote.

“Seyi walked me to my car, and we decided to pray together. We prayed for Mr President, and we prayed for ourselves.

“I love Tinubu; there is no hate in my DNA, and they accept my decision to vote and campaign for my own candidate, Peter Obi, and we still remain family. We do politics without hate. I am still 100% Obidient.”

Fayose Questions Nigeria’s Democratic Process

Meanwhile, Fayose has criticised Nigeria’s electoral and judicial systems, claiming the country is no longer practising true democracy.

Speaking during an appearance on Arise Television’s Prime Time programme on Wednesday, he alleged that the judiciary, rather than the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), now determines Nigeria’s political leadership.

He argued that election outcomes are increasingly decided in court, warning that the 2027 general election could follow the same pattern.

“There is nothing like INEC or democracy in Nigeria. What we have now is government of the court, by the court and for the court,” Fayose said.

“In the last 12 years, all the presidents have been to court. So, it’s the judiciary that has been giving us presidents. We’re no longer practising democracy.”

He also expressed concern about the future of the country’s democratic process.

“Look, we’re looking to 2027, but it will still end up in court. We will have a coronation. We have dictators who are not in military uniforms.

“Take a look at what they are doing to the opposition: the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC). They have taken them to square zero.”
