During a meeting with the Management Team, leaders of tactical units, and Heads of Departments of the FCT Police Command, which included Area Commanders and Divisional Police Officers, Commissioner Igweh emphasized the need for a rigorous approach to enhance the existing security framework. The gathering took place on Saturday, as revealed by the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, in a statement on Sunday.

Commissioner Igweh instructed the heads of tactical units to identify areas with heightened criminal activities, including potential kidnappers’ hideouts, and urged them to proactively engage in combating these issues. Emphasizing the importance of intelligence-led policing and increased visibility through regular stop-and-search operations, the Commissioner stressed the adoption of effective community partnerships to strengthen security measures.

Additionally, Commissioner Igweh ordered a comprehensive crackdown on vehicles found without proper number plates or with only one number plate while operating on FCT roads. He affirmed his commitment to tackling criminal activities in the Territory and expressed zero tolerance for any laxity in the discharge of duties.

Calling on residents to collaborate with the police in the fight against crime, Commissioner Igweh cautioned against boarding vehicles along roads and unapproved parks.
